DESCRIPTION:The Walla Walla Fire District 8 will host a free community presentation on "Wildfire Awareness" at Gesa Power House Theatre on Wednesday\, June 5 at 7:00 p.m. \n\n\n\nThe presentation will include information on the November 2018 California wildfires\, with firsthand pictures and accounts from local agencies\, part of Washington State Task Force 2 that responded last year. The presentation will also cover Walla Walla County emergeny management programs\, including: Alerts\, Evacuations\, Notifications\, Ready Bags\, Safety Zones\, and Shelter in Place. Finally\, the presentation will discuss what assistance property owners can provide during a fire incident. \n\n\n\nThe presentation will be led by 4th generation Walla Walla native Bob Clendaniel\, Fire Chief of the Walla Walla County Fire District #8. Clendaniel retired as Deputy Sheriff/Sergeant for 30 years with the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office and has 39 years of volunteer/full-time fire service. He has also served as Incident Commander\, Division Supervisor\, Officer\, and/or Firefighter on hundreds of fires in the region. \n\n\n\nThis event is free and open to the public. The lobby will open at 6:00 p.m.\, seating will open at 6:30 p.m.\, and the presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by Sportsman's Warehouse\, 9th St Auto\, L&G Ranch Supply\, and Columbia REA.\n\n\n\nGeneral Admission seating will be first-come\, first served.
