WWBWC Project Tour
The Walla Walla Basin Watershed Council (WWBWC) will host a tour for community members and other interested individuals to showcase some of the Council’s projects in the Walla Walla Valley. Since 1994 the WWBWC has brought in over $20 million in grants to the area to facilitate a great variety of projects. Many of these projects are aimed at improving water resources, improving environmental conditions, and providing monitoring to better understand needs, project effectiveness, and opportunities. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Milton-Freewater Public Library Albee Room, with a general overview of the Watershed Council and its projects. Afterwards, guests will tour the Milton-Freewater area to visit some of these projects, including river channel improvements for fish passage at Nursery Bridge, aquifer recharge at the Johnson site, levee setback at the Lampson property, and others.
